Out of the box mine worked down to 443. I now have it working down to 442, but its not reliable. I get the VCO beep from time to time.

All you really need is a DC volt meter for equipment.

Are you still looking to X-band with x30's? I'm running a 790/890 in X-band repeat thru the rear DB25 connectors.

I just picked up a M-RK EDACS w/ AEGIS for $33 shipped to my front door. Radio was programmed with KCMO stuff.
