Re: EDACS 500M Conventional?
Quick question... I know the 800MHz EDACS 500M can do 16 EDACS systems/groups, but can it do conventional repeat and direct as well... and how many conventional channels is it capable of (if it is capable)? TIA, -Burnsy I used 900 MHz M500 in my company system. Each conventional set could do 128 ch...

Re: 5100ES programming problem
Hi! Thanks for your very detailed reply. EFJ direct wanted $400 something flat rate to reflash. Unfortunately, a user on this board, efj44astro offered to do exactly what you say needs to be done for $40. I took him up on it. Too good to be true I suppose. That was 4 months ago. Since then, the turd...

BEWARE efj44astro Deal going bad..
Hi All.... Had to post this due to a unfortunate situation. I sent a EFJ5100ES P25 radio that needed a firmware reflash to Steve, efj44astro with him receiving it on July 9th. He told me he was waiting on some files from EFJ and then he would ship back. Since then, spotty responses to e-mail the las...

5100ES programming problem
Hi guys.. Just got a 5100ES, model 242-512A-433JH6. Read fine with PC Configure 2.14.5 . Modified some of the contents in a couple of zones (RF frequency, PL, NAC etc..) then when going to write back, I fat fingered the command in the transfer dropdown instead of using the radio button. So, instead ...

Re: What is TOR?
On a Kenwood TK-980 or TK-7180 or other applicable radio, there is a setting that I have read others discussing (not seen with my own eyes) under "Squelch Logic" which includes COR/TOR I kinda skimmed the service manual for a TK981 and couldn't find a reference for TOR directly. Squelch l...

Last time I spoke with Mark, it was still locked in the safe, maybe for another year. However, if you still have the DOS programmer, open up the codeplug with Hexworkshop, and its very easy to find the channels to be edited for out of band. No conversions or other funky things like some of the Moto...

M500 audio and PL deviation adjust?
Hi all...
Can anyone provide audioo and PL adjust points on a 900 MHz M500? Don't have a service manual handy, the radio maintinance program doesn't seem to do audio and PL/DPL adjust.
TIA

Re: Radio Interoperability
Anyone know of any reasonably priced off the shelf products for radio interoperability? We are using MA/COM 800 mhz for basic communications however, we have still have mutual aid departments that use VHF high band. Need economical method to talk from one talk group to a designated VHF high band. A...

Re: password
I have seen that too on Kenwoods. It only prevents you from reading the radio. It can be written over without the password. Not sure on Motorola. On older Spectras the default password was the last 4 of the serial number if I recall correctrly. I could be wrong though. Only thing you can do on the ...
