Yes, but its kinda nice to have the ability to add/remove from the scan list on the fly.
These radios really sound nice also.
They have the typical good GE audio. Very natural sounding........

Re: Ericsson Panther 500P VHF Opinions
If I am not mistaken, I believe you use the (+ and -) keys on the radio to make each channel for scan. You should see an "s" on the display.
You would do this for each channel and then scan will work.
Let me know if that works... Tom/G

Re: Ericsson Panther 500P VHF Opinions
fineshot1,
I have one of these and they are very nice radios.
They are very rugged. Mine has been very reliable also.
The audio is very loud and clear. Typical good GE quality.
I'd grab some if you can......

Comet SMA-503
Dave,
The Comet SMA-503 has been one of my favorites.
It will not need an adapter and its very thin and flexible.
Its not rated for 220MHz, but it works very well there.
Diamond also has a version of it. Best of luck... Tom/G

VX-2000 - Can someone program it for me ?
I ran into a good price on a VX-2000 and I was looking for someone to program it for me.
It's a whopping 4 channel UHF radio so it shouldn't be a huge deal.
Let me know.
Thanks, Tom/G, N1VVD - n1vvd@snet.net

Donuts anyone........
kk6rg, I would gladly buy the the donuts, although they might be stale but the time that got from CT to CA... :) The next thing I was going to try was the switching diodes. The service manual lists them as PIN diodes and if I look them up they look like the old discreet component diodes. If I open u...

VHF GE MDX Mobile radio - Any Interest
I figured I would post this out here to see if there was any interest. My GE MDX has not been hearing to well lately so based on some recommendations, I replaced the first RF transistor so see if that would help it out. Unfortunately, it did not help. The radio transmits fine, but doesn't receive as...

TK-370 - In the HAM Bands ?
Can the TK-370 be programmed for the 440 HAM Band ?
I notice the specs state 450 to 470MHz.
I was wondering if it was possible, and also if it works OK.
Thanks,
