Re: Icom F3s

Correct it is a dos program. It will not work with a USB adapter. You need a 9 pin for it to work correctly

VXR-7000 on Ham

A friend of mine has a VXR7000 UHF 450-470 Mhz that was donated to use on the local ham club. He was able to program it via the windows software fine, but now only has 700 MW output power. Is there a tunign procedure that needs to be done to get it to work on the ham bands ?

TK-240

OK, Dust off your cob webs. I found a old TK-240 portable in my SAR stuff. Originally this portable was programmed by jumpering 2 pins on the rear of the unit under a small cover. Well needless to say somone used a knife (as it was probably the easiest) and the rear panel is no longer able to get in...

Re: icom ic-f33gs from an non mdc to a mdc portable

The original radio was not capable of MDC signalling. You can try changing the model on the radio and write one channel to it. I'm guessing it is an early version and will not take it. If it is the early version you cannot change it to MDC.

Re: 2821 mobile 450-520 down to 440

I had the VHF version of this radio and had numerous ham frequencies in the radio. I also have 3 different flavors of ICOM UHF Mobiles with HAM freqs, including the 521, 221, and 420. I am assuming yes.

Re: OPC-966 Programming Cable Schematics??????

ICOM uses a RIB type circuit in the programming cable. It is not a easy cable to rebuild.
