Re: TK-760 TX audio not working
No, I haven't tried jumping the yellow and blue wires back together. I stopped my trouble shooting when I noticed a broken variable 10K resistor that just so happens to be one of the few components the audio signal hits after entering the head... I have a co worker sourcing a replacement and should ...

TK-760 TX audio not working
Not as clever as I thought I was... Got the lights working in the back panel on the TK-760 but in the process lost my audio on transmit. I key up the mic, receiving radio receives a signal, I scream into the microphone but nothing comes out on the receiving radio... By swapping various parts around ...

Re: tk-760-h panel lites gone
*Nevermind*... Imagine my surprise when I touched one side of one of the three LED's with the soldering iron and it came sailing clean off the board... Found the cold solder joint on that side alright. Was a pain getting it lined back up again but got it done... Touched the rest and now I have stead...

Re: tk-760-h panel lites gone
My brand new to me kenwood tk-760 H has intermittant lights... Power up, no lights. Give the radio a rap with my knuckles and one side lights up. whap it again both sides light up with every combination in between... This seems like a cold solder joint to me and have been touching bits and pieces wi...

So, who can identify the most junk?
I think I see a kenwood TK-730 with two heads on the passenger door...

Re: TK-760GH scan not working??
In the end it turned out to be the off hook scan. Appears to be disabled by default (at least with the software I was using) and I had to enable the feature.
Thanks for the reply!

Re: TK-760G self programming and software question
I found the supplemental manual on line and thought I would cut and paste the info here for future reference by someone. 8-1. Enter to the Self Programming Mode Remove D507 (Figure 3) from the TX-RX unit. Hold down the [A] key and turn the power switch on. When enter the self programming mode, "...

TK-760G self programming and software question
Kenwood tk-760G -1
I believe the software to be KPG56D This true?
What needs to be done to enable front face self programming?
I do believe there needs to be a diode or a shunt either installed or removed.
Thanks,

Re: About this board???
Thanks for the reply,
That wasn't quite what I was thinking of but beggars can't be choosers (although the panhandlers around here are pretty picky....)
Every time I visit I click the button "mark all forums as read" Was wondering if there was an automatic way of doing that.....

About this board???
Is there any way to automatically mark the forum's as read once one has visited the board? An example: I visit, I see new posts have been made, some I am not interested in reading. I leave.... I come back a week later and the same posts I saw and were not interested in reading are still tagged as ne...

Re: TK-760 programming issues
Hey guys, I am having some issues trying to program a TK-760 (is NOT a "G" model) and not sure if it is the "H" model or not. I have the software & programming cable. I do know that I cannot program it from the radio head (I have to use the PC). The problem is I can enter th...

Re: Kenwood G series
Can someone tell me what the G actually means as to K in Kenwood radios? Short answer: No, no one can actually pin point exactly what the "G" will give you over the previous model. Generically the "G" radio's are more advanced, have better features and more capacity. It would se...

Re: Kenwood G series
"G" was a suffix added to indicate that the radio will do wide and narrow band via the software. Some of the radios that come to mind are the TK-730 mobiles and the TK-250 series portables that were offered in a "G" and a non "G" model. Hmmmm..... My tk-760H will do wi...

While this doesn't answer your question, I think it is still interesting reading.
