Well i figured out the issue. Radio already had mdc1200 firmware in it. I used older software that did not have the mdc1200 options in it. However it read and write with the older software. Once i used the newer software and saw the mdc1200 options with no problems.

Try adding a couple of zones into it. Ive seen some screwey things with an EFJ that had the programming removed.

Did kenwood release a newer firmware to allow mdc1200 native to the radio or does it still require an add on board.

Has anyone figured out how to mod the uhf 450-520 to go out of band for 440?

Cant seem to edit the codeplug file like on the vx4200 mobiles.

tk-290 firmware issue

I have a tk-290 older firmware. Tried to use 734A to update it to something newer and the radio showed a weird code at about 48% then now it comes up no sys.

I dont know if this radio can not handle the newer firmware. Firmware that was in them was 980B

Is there a VCO trimmer in the radio for these? Need to bump it up a little on the 470 end. Dont mind loosing on the bottom end.

Is there a vco adjustment on the board to lock the radio up. It unlock around 51.5 mhz.
