Re: VXA-220 Airband portable
Are there any FBO's or Pilot shops near you that carry the brand? Usually, you won't find a "dealer", like with Land Mobile units. It frustrates me that Vertex will bundle the fixed-wing headset adapter with the radio, and it won't work with products from one of the most popular headset ma...

Re: VXA-220 Airband portable
I have a VXA-210, and a David Clark headset. The radio does not work properly when connected to the headset. I have not checked the impedance of the DC microphone, but I suspect that is the issue with the radio. To answer your question, I used the radios' PTT, with poor results. Check the impedance ...

Forget the HT1000. No longer manufactured, and parts may be an issue down the road. The Vertex is waterproof, lighter and more capable than the HT ever was designed to be. I have the VX-920 configured as follows: VX-927 (4-button version), UHF, w/ VHF rx-board and VMDE-200 encode/decode board. MDC s...

Radio259 I do have both boards installed in my portable, the VHF RX function works well, but still have issues when using the MDC1200 function. I have one 4-channel group where MDC1200 is desired. From the posts here, when using a MDC enabled frequency, the PF key are reassigned to MCD functions (I'...

I have similar issues with the new vx-920; here's the configuration: VX-924 (w/ 4 PF keys only) + VMDE-200 + SRX-4 Vhf RX. When MDC-1200 option is programmed for a given channel, the scan function for the group is disabled, and the PF keys don't function. When the MDC-1200 option is de-selected, all...
