the 272's dont have the DTMF keypad on the front so the unit is not field programable, unless you have a laptop, software, and cables in that particular field. by the way, the 272's will take the same prog as the 270g's so you can have more than 32 channels

kpg56d /tk-270g again

i have the latest greatest version on the kpg56d (v4.21) its a windows based prog. my problem is trying to open up the dat files in an external editor like excel. it would be so much easier to copy and paste the data in something like a csv file or a spreadsheet. you cant copy a freq from a database...

I have since discovered this, thanks for the reply though. Does anybody know of any sites or docs that can be downloaded for tips or tricks or hidden settings for this model? even the programming manual would be interesting to read. the manufacturer website is pretty much usless.

tk-270 / kpg56d

how about getting more than a, b, and c tones in the decode in the tk-270g? we are all "hi-band" here so we have our FD dispatch tones and no more spaces for indivdual paging tones. I'm pretty good at setting the things up but I'm just not getting this one.
