Good battery for the 380 series

I have quite a few of them and I just hate KNB 17a Nicads they really do suck... If only Kenwood did an impres type battery for them... Anyone got suggestions on good aftermarket batts for the 380's? Nimh or Lithum?

Cool! I did the same with one of my 3140s with the service manuel appendum that has the details and skematics and now the bugger wont start, the display flashes for a split second and sometimes the radio will turn on but it has a problem with being more than 20% reliable at turning on and sometimes ...

I just bit the bullet and did it and I'm very happy! works better than the self programming on the 370G! You an actully edit whats already in the radio from the pc programming! 1 radio down 5 to go!!! :D

Does anyone know why this diode was there in the first place? Does taking it out disable anything or just add self programming?

Bring it on!!! I'm getting bloody sick of not being able to export and import data from lists and other Codeplugs/different radios, with Motorola CPS you can import from source files and drag and drop.

As far as I know, on my TK 880 and TK 3160, there are 2 types of "sidetones", none of which is a long beep like Motorola. With Fleetsync PTT ID type set to "OWN" the radio sounds 2 or 3 high pitched beeps, with PTT ID type set to "SEL" the radio sounds a slower low pit...
