Re: GE Delta hook up

There are 2 ground pins on the bottom row of the power/speaker molex connector that has 10 possible pins on it, even though all of the pins aren't used. It sounds like you are missing one of the 2 ground leads that are on the bottom row that has 10 possible pins, even though only 4 are filled. looki...

Re: FTL-1011 Scan

The microphone ground clip has to be grounded to the radio chassis, IE you have to use the hookswitch feature to make the radio go into scan, there is no way around it with any of the FTL-X011 series radios. I usually connect a microphone hanger clip to the side of the radio, just use one of the cas...

Re: Logging on to Batlabs?

It's really strange because I have 2 virtually identical PC's both similar model DELLs but different internet providers. The work PC has no problem using Firefox but the home PC started acting wierd about 2 months ago with mozilla only, it used to work fine with mozilla. Both versions of mozilla are...

Re: COR / CAS signal in FTL-1011?

Remove the audio board, the Printed circuit board on the top side of the radio. On the bottom of this board look for a 24 pin surface mount IC with markings similar to AK2343. The dot is pin 1 and you need to find PIN 14 which is tone detect output, this pin goes low when a valid receive signal with...

Re: Logging on to Batlabs?

Dave, I am having the same problems and Alex swears that it's all on my end and nobody else has a similar problem. When running Mozilla Firefox the login gets stuck in a endless loop and when i can get in I only have access to some groups and not the ones that i want, BTW Internet explorer works fin...

Re: GE Phoenix Programming Help

I wonder if your selecting the wrong radio type in the Niles pull down menu ? When you choose the Phoenix radio type from the niles main menu are you selecting PHOENIX SCAN, or PHOENIX SX. If your radio has the scan and add del buttons on it then the proper selection in Niles is PHOENIX SCAN which i...

Re: 99ch FTL-1011 on 10 meters?

Northern Arizona,

I have heard about version 3.0 of CE-5 but I have never found it.

I'm wondering if there is an earlier version of CE-7 for these 99 ch radios that works better than VS3.3.

Re: 99ch FTL-1011 on 10 meters?

Dave, The 99 channel software CE-7 seems to be a major POS program from my experience. As I mentioned I have only had success with the 4/12/24 channel CE-5 and even this is a PITA. I was working on converting the 99 channel high band radio and head over to 220MHz but now with my software problems I ...

Re: 99ch FTL-1011 on 10 meters?

I could help you with some models as I have done the 4, 12 and 24 channel radios to 6 meters by hexediting and fixing the codeplugs checksum for the 4 channel 12 and 24 channel radios but I cannot get a 99 channel with alpha head to program at all. Going to 10 meters should be similar. I have tried ...

Re: some better photos of this radio

Oops 148 to 174 should read as the C version but either way all of the FTL-2011's I have come across were the 148 to 174 models.

Re: some better photos of this radio

That is a 99 channel FTL-2011, VHF high band, 40 watts 136-160MHz A version or 148-174 MHz B version.

Re: Dead M-PA ?

I know this is a late response because I don't get to this group much and maybe you have fixed it already but after flashing you need to load in a new personality file. The personality file is the actual operating frequency information, without this the radio synthesizer will not have anything to lo...

Re: Using a vhf antenna on a low band portable

I didn't look at the date on this thread and I don't check this group that much so if I revived an old thread I'm sorry but before someone ruins a good Low band hand held I had to say something. It will work like crap. Been there tried it. The result is an antenna with about 30 dB lower gain than a ...

Yes I have seen this numerous times if the frequencies are outside of the designated bandsplit which was set up in S8525.exe for the control head. I know on my low band 825 I have it set up for 29 to 54 Mhz which I did by using either shift enter or control enter, it's been so long that i don't reme...

OK 60 hz hum, probably a power supply filter cap. If I remember correctly those receivers used Large radial leaded electrolytics.
