Data911

Recently I picked up an old Data911 mobile computer off of ebay. It's one of the older series- black and white, 486-level processor. Anybody have any information regarding these units?

I was told that the rig ALSO had to have either a code chip, or trunking chip to have some extra memory space. Might be wrong... I wouldn't think so. I'm pretty sure that the radio loses all of it's former capabilities (selectable scan & scan lists, channel banks, GE* and T90/T99, etc) to basic...

Yep....Select is 16 channels only and no display. Scan and System have a 8-character LCD-matrix display, with status indicators. Both are capable of 192 channels, and the System model allows you to direct-dial with DTMF. Also, 136-150 System models can be "Hamflashed"...this basically make...

This is the site that you were looking for.

However, as you'll see, it is no longer operating due to lack of funding.

MRK speaker-mic on MPA?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... egory=4669

Will this speaker-mic work on a VHF MP-A, assuming the mic antenna is changed?

My own EDACS!

How much money/work/parts would it take to set up my own little EDACS system, assuming such things as frequency licenses and other bureaucratic BS is taken care of? Something small consists of maybe 10 users max and a small geographic area. Like a "gee-whiz" kind of thing.

Well, for one, you wont find any here. Second, nobody here's gonna tell you. Third, it's not a good idea to ask for Motorola RSS on a public forum. Motorola guards it's RSS with near-fanatical zeal, and they come after people who have illegal RSS and stomp them to death. Motorola also keeps tabs on ...

MP-A's and encryption....?

How does encryption in a MP-A work? I know that encrypted is an add-on board, but is it limited to Aegis, or can a MP-A do DES or DVL, with the proper board?

Can a S850 be converted?

I still have that pesky S850 control head....I ask now whether I can convert the head to conventional operation, a-la /\/\. Basically, how can I make it into a S825? Or am I trying to make a pipe dream happen?
