Can anyone advise me which pins on the TK780 accessory connector are external speaker output? There is nothing in the user manual on this.

I am trying to get a TK780 to start/stop scan using the SCN key. I am in fixed system scan. It always scans independent of the SCN key. Using on/off hook enable/disable does not help.
Maybe I need to be in list scan?

I would suggest the Vertex ATV-6XL which is tougher than the tapered one. The XL version is untuned, you cut it to the length needed according to the chart. It looks more like a HT1000 antenna. Also a lot like the Kenwood TK290 antenna.

It seems that the only way to operate on 2m is to buy the A version of the 4000. Vertex seems unwilling to cater to hams using LMR gear. This I think is a mistake.

Can anyone tell me if NYPD is using Vertex radios and to what extent? Ditto for NYFD, though I think they are stuck with those fancy digital Motorolas.

Does anyone know anything about the BIIS version of the F520/620? It appears to be capable of 1200 baud data TX/RX. Who is using it and for waht? AVL perhaps?

Has anyone tried using a RIB by Moto or Polaris to program a TK-730/830?
It looks like it should work.
