VX-454/VX-459 MDC emergency call

We just purchased some VX-454 & VX-459 VHF portables for interop with forestry. I have been working with the software to build a template to program them from. It's pretty easy to work with except I am having trouble with the MDC settings. How do you set the radio to encode a MDC1200 emergency c...

Re: Question about the X2212 chip

Yes, you can rewrite the x2212. It can be used in the Delta S/SX, Rangr, and Pheonix S/SX. If you are using a S-950 or S-990 downloading head it will write to the x2212 every time the radio is powered up or the mode is changed.

Re: GE Royal Executive Radio

What you have is a MASTR EXECUTIVE II VHF drawer with a Royal Exec. control head, at least going by the combination number. Your radio will work with the Royal control head, you just need a diagram of where all those wires go. Take a look here: http://www.repeater-builder.com/ge/product-code-indexes...

I had the same issue and had to delete and re-install the software. I know you said that you no longer had the install disk, but it is out in the wild.

Re: S950/990 Direct Frequency Entry

The firmware for the S990 direct entry head is expecting the i.f. of the VHF hi band Delta. The other radios & bands have a different i.f. and it will always come out wrong. Find out what the i.f. is for the VHF hi band Delta and then find out what the i.f. is for the radio you are wanting use. ...

Re: Need 730 service manual

You are not going to like this answer... You have to remove the VCO can from the board, take a dremol tool and cut it apart. There are two (IIRC) ckt. boards inside the can. They are all soldered together and soldered to the shell of the can. After you get it apart, then you have to put a trimmer in...

Exporting GMH template to GPH template

Just spent the afternoon creating a nice template for some GMH mobiles here at work. Now I need to program some GPH's as well. Please tell me there is a way to import my GMH template into my GPH software. I really don't want to spend the evening re-typing all this stuff. I tried opening the GMH temp...

Re: Mastr II Keys

kt,

Go to a real locksmith and have them make you a BF-10A key for a Yale lock on a Y14 blank. If the cabinet and mobile do not have custom keys then this key will fit your locks.

Re: Master II mobile questions

Pj, The 110 Watt Mastr II mobile draws about 28 amps on transmit. Unfortunately EBay seems to be the pricing standard for used electronics such as this, and I wouldn't expect you would be able to get more than $50-75 for it there unless your were lucky. It would make a suitable base station. The rec...

Re: Bendix King Programming Instructions

If it cycles power due to a battery problem then that will cause it to exit program mode. NIFC has some nice programming instructions you can print and laminate for your wallet or pocket if you want.

Re: GE Master 2 on 6M

I put a Mastr II on 6 meters (52.01R, 53.01T) as a repeater and it required no mods. 52.525 was a snap as well. MVPs & Exec IIs require some cap replacements to the exciter & some removal of some wire on the coils of the front end of the receiver. Go to repeater-builder.com for a ton of info...

Re: Dual Band TK-730/830 volume balance

It wasn't shorted on the UHF drawer, but it is now. However, it did not seem to make any difference. I have a parts radio I can pull the AF section out of & swap. Perhaps the audio amp is going soft.
