Re: TK-730/830 Remote Head "Un-Conversion"
My radio's pins aren't actually labeled so I had a lot of trial and error, however, I eventually found which went where. Thanks! You've been a great help.

Re: TK-730/830 Remote Head "Un-Conversion"
Awesome. Thanks for that, but I do have one more question. Since my external speaker is plugged into the back of the remote head (the two speaker wires are plugged into the remote head by themselves, as the speaker didn't come with a plug, only snipped wires), do I plug those speaker wires into the ...

TK-730/830 Remote Head "Un-Conversion"
I was wondering if the TK-630/730/830 series radios can be converted from remote head to "base mount." I know a lot of people take regular radios and convert them to a remote head setup, but I would like to do the opposite. Anybody know if it can be done, and if so, how? Thanks.

Re: TK-830 programming for PA
Everything seemed right. The display screen says PUBLIC ADRS and the external speaker beeps when I press the PA button and the display screen shows the little SP indicator up top and the speaker beeps when I press the SP button, just nothing comes out the PA end. As far as clicking relays, I haven't...

Re: TK-830 programming for PA
Well, the numbers on the plastic thing match up to the owner's manual chart so it's plugged in correctly. I still can't figure it out!

Re: TK-830 programming for PA
I plugged them in according to the chart in the radio's manual. It said they were the pins in the bottom right corner and the one on top of that.

Re: TK-830 programming for PA
Thanks for the info, n5tbu! However, I'm still having trouble. :( I plugged a KES-4 into the back of the radio as instructed but I still get nothing from it in SP mode or PA mode. Anybody have any similar trouble before? Also, I know the KES-4 speaker is in order because I'm using it for the externa...

Re: TK-830 programming for PA
So the black/white speaker wire goes to pin 12 and what about the solid black one? And what about pins 13 and 14? I'm confused!

Re: TK-830 programming for PA
Bump! My TK-730 just arrived and I ordered an additional KES-4 for PA use. The TK-730 came with the manual which shows me the pin layouts for different functions. However, it doesn't say whether or not the positive KES-4 wire goes in pin 13 or pin 14 or vise versa with the negative. Anybody?

Re: TK-830 programming for PA
Okay, I have another question. Concerning the positive wire and the negative wire, which goes in pin 13 and which goes in pin 14? And is the wire with the small white stripe the negative? Thanks!

Re: TK-830 programming for PA
13 and 14? I'm not sure what you mean. I'm guessing I start at the top left and count to the right and down until I count to the 13th and 14th pins and that's where I plug the PA speaker into? Also, will I have to cut the KES-4's plug off and splice the wires into some sort of pins to plug into the ...
