Re: Dead M-PA ?
What is the model number or combo number on the radio.
You should be able to flash the radio as many times as you want, providing the flash is compatible with the hardware you have.
You should be able to find all the files you need in the Yahoo Group M-PA radios.

Re: My new laptop doesn't have a serial port ... NOW what do I d
You can try a PMCIA card with a serial port on it like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/PCMCIA-RS-232-RS232-Notebook-Serial-I-O-PC-Card-ln19u_W0QQitemZ150217951446QQihZ005QQcategoryZ3710QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Don't bother with trying a USB to serial adapter, they suck, none of them work prop...

Read the radio with PC Configure and there is a screen that will tell you what options are installed.

Wow,
That went well, it's pretty tight in there similar to a HT-1250
Thanks

Re: EF Johnson 5100 questions
Wow thanks for the quick reply.
It appears that I have purchased these radios exactly backwards for what I need.
I was looking to do P25 on the 70cm ham band and the radio that covers 440 doesn't have it.

Re: EF Johnson 5100 questions
Just to clarify:
So I can just call EF Johnson with a CC and tell them I want CAI, pay $400 or whatever they get and install it myself?
How about 242-5246-460sl4
Can you add FPP to a limited keypad model?

Also if you purchase one of these portables can options like FPP and CAI be added later? Does that require a trip to the dealer or will they let you do it yourself like Thales? Thanks in a...
