Re: Upgrading MRK flashcode?
You can freely upgrade your flashcode in the MRK without needing to redo the tracking data. I'd be saving the following data before doing any flash update anyway: Personality data - just read with programmer, then write to disc. Tracking data - done in radio maint, read from radio, then write to dis...

Downgrading flash code for Programmer use... help needed
Newer flash codes from R13 and onwards require RPM to be able to read & write personalities, and are incompatible with Programmer. Programmer can't read or even blindly overwrite any personalities in radios with R13 code... it needs at the latest R11 flash code. Thankfully, for those with only P...

Re: Question: M-RK scan question
The most you can scan is 64 conventional channels, or 64 EDACS groups (so long as you have at least SYSGRP=128), in one system.

Activating FCC menu?
I've seen a LPE200 with FCC menu active - and was wondering how this could be done on my MRK or LPE as well? Just programming the menu line up with FCC menu doesn't work - the radio errors out of the selection. What is needed to fully activate it? Programmer doesn't indicate that its a feature encry...

Re: How to UNLOCK M-RK???
PK2GEX decodes to a 25kHz bandwidth, 136-160 MHz radio so yes, it will do your VHF freqs. They can be programmed with repeaters. They scan, but only scan 'memories' - and only then if they've got the 'option' of scanning enabled from the factory - but most probably do anyway. Scanning frequencies di...

Re: M-RK model numbers
PK3HCX, breaks down like this: 3 = M-RK Scan, 25 kHz bandwidth H = 150 to 174 MHz CX = conventional analog only (Ericsson label) and PK6UGC is as follows: 6 = M-RK Scan, 12.5/25 kHz bandwidth switchable (if the feature is 'soft' enabled) U = 440 to 470 MHz GC = conventional analog only (GE label) Ho...

Re: High power - Low power M-RK RF boards
For setting an MRK to lower power levels - try editing the DAC value for the "30" and "10" power levels in Radio Maint, but be sure to backup your tracking data first in case things go badly wrong. No doubt these settings will become highly non-linear towards the extremes. Antenn...
