Re: Longest remote cable

IIRC you could special order them up to 150 feet for the x30 series and the X90 series. It was recommended to run a separate speaker lead for the longer cables if you needed to power an external speaker.

Re: HELP WITH REGENCY MOBILE

Requires a hand held programmer (basically a keypad) that plugs into a socket in the radio.

Re: need to make two 70-530's scan

Scan function is built into the radio, and a scan list must be programmed into the memory eprom for it to work. There are two types of scan available: priority and non priority, and each is enabled by grounding a wire to the microprocessor. The scan kit (switches, label and LED) was an option for th...

Re: Help with GE radio

Ed -

The radio you have is a Maxon SM-4150 we a GE "monogram" label on it.

GE had a software / Hardware programming kit and so did Maxon, along with a standalone programmer that can reprogram it.

PM me if you need more info.

Re: Midland 70-1440B

The regular 70-1440B was not narrow band capable.

There was a Multi-Mode version produced (has MM at the end of the model number) that was narrow / wide band capable but they are fairly rare.

Re: KMC-9c 8 pin to 6?

You can make an adapter by purchasing a RJ45 Female to RJ45 Female Coupler, plug the KMC-9 in one side and use a 6 pin straight through cable on the other and you should be in business. (The center pins on the 8 pin connector match the 6 pins for the TK series radio)

Re: TK730(G) / TK830(G) / KRK-4DB Issues

Just generate one from scratch. It's not that hard to do. The KPG7 software clears all the data anyway when you change the head or drawer configuration.

Re: kenwood tk 830 programming scanner

First off -

KPG7d needs true DOS to work, no windows.

You will need to put the radio in program mode by pressing the bottom left key while powering the radio on if you have a display head.
Be sure to read the radio and save an archive before programming it

Re: Kenwood Commercial Radios to Amateur Bands

Dave -

The TK-762H, TK-762HG and TK-7102H radios will go to 2 meters just by programming. Not sure what a TK-706 is.

The TK-710 requires a KPT-20 programmer and can go to 2 meters with proper tuning / alignmnet / programming.

Re: Question on TK-730

The Tk-730 (G) is narrow band capable (sort of).

It will do narrow band but the synthesizer math won't allow it to accept some of the newer 2.5 khz spaced channels. There was never a retrofit board offered to change a 730 to a 730 G.

Sounds like you have a eeprom size error. Make sure that the model selected in the software exactly matches the radio model you are reading. Options are: Basic 32 channel Basic 99 Channel Basic 32 channel with Alpha Basic 99 Channel with Alpha Full 32 channel Full 160 channel Also make sure you are ...
