LMR400 will be just fine at under 100 feet.

Hardline won't "get you out" any farther, although it might "hear" a little better in repeater applications.

KPG7D works just fine under XP on my non-serial equipped laptop. Never had a problem after 1-1/2 years.

I use a PCM/CIA serial card from SIIG and puurchased it through http://www.cdw.com

VX-10 XMT/RCV

I have a VHF VX-10 with no receive audio and VERY low transmit power ( about .3 watts on high power setting). The green light comes on when it receives a signal, but no audio. Also, along with the low RF output, there's no transmit audio.

Is there any particular problem area to look at?

Threaten to suspend you? Sounds like just another case of a big company trying to play "god" pushing everyone around, telling them what to do and trying to run their entire life in general. There are so many companies registered on eBay that are selling their new product, it's ridiculous. ...

Motorola is going to price themselves right into second place in the two-way market. They raised the prices 7% last year and now 8%?????
What are they trying to do? They are already getting a reputation for building junk lately and are losing business to Kenwood and ICOM.

Nope. You buy it and that's it. In fact, it probably will cost you about $50 for the software and you'll get that for other radios with it. There's no licensing like the Motorola Nazis have. The software will run on just about anything at all as long as it's slower than 400 MHz. You can also run it ...
