It does seem to be a common problem for the 450kHz Ceramic Filter to fail and have the radio become "numb". In VHF radios I replace the 450F TOKO ceramic filter (+ or - 6kHz or 12kHz total) to a 450H (+ or - 3kHz or 6kHz total) ceramic filter. I do this to make the radio more selective bec...

IC-F70/80 and F1721/1821
How many versions of CSF70/1700 were there? Is there much advantage to me updating my version (I think that I have the second or third version)? I was told that newer versions have a "tight squelch" feature that would be nice to have... anything else newer versions have?
