Re: EF Johnson 5100 questions
I.S., just another quick Q: I'm looking at one of these right now (EBay, what else?) as a not-too-expensive way to get into P25. Is the 5100 a decent radio? I don't need a lot of bells and whistles, just P25 conventional, and am a bit leary of forking over what people are asking for to get a Motorol...

Re: Thales wideband portable
Finally got to play with an MBITR a few weeks back for an exercise we had and while I liked the radio for its capabilities, the audio sucked. I don't know if it was a programming parameter or somesuch, but the audio out of the front speaker, regardless of what the manual said it should be, was pathe...

Nah, you have it right. DCS (-)743 and (-)312 are functionally identical, so the software just defaults to whatever it uses as its basic code for that group. Check this out: http://www.open.org/~blenderm/dcs.html . I have yet to find a better description and it also lists all of the codes and their ...

Model#, band? Glentel is just the dealer/operator. From my recollection, they are a nearly-pure Motorola outfit, so the Batboards would probably be your best bet, but nothing can be done without knowing the actual type of radio. This also assumes that you are the owner of said radio or Glentel gave ...
