AAG, he's not talking about CTCSS tones. Side tones are an audible beep that the transmitting radio makes.

I was browsing some dealers sites looking for kenwood accessories and ran across a place that had them for sale. If I recall correctly, it was in the neighborhood of $2000. It's not what I was actively looking for, so I wasn't paying close attention.

The 821-822 freqs are the repeater inputs. If you want to put the I-Call/Tac freqs in as simplex, you probably need to put the outputs in.

866.0125 - I-Call
866.5125 - I-Tac 1
867.0125 - I-Tac 2
867.5125 - I-Tac 3
868.0125 - I-Tac 4

Look for the signalling options for that channel, if it says 'or' change it to 'and'

RX and TX are on 172.275, PL only on TX. still beepin'. It's probably something along the lines of what nmfire10 said. After all, the radio came from ebay.

Is there any major difference between these two speaker mics other than that the KMC-26 has the antenna connector?
