Isnt a feature string in the LPE already in the radio and based on the serial number of the radio ? not if someone's been fooling with it...(the hex string, that is) it's also my understanding that the feature-encryption unlocking relies on ROM sn, ESN, and possibly another value...can't remember e...

based on my research (and not any hands-on experience) the features you bring up with the MENU on the LPE will show what the radio is capable of...but not guaranteed to do. my understanding is that the "feature encryption" is in place to allow sites to upgrade say, from Aegis to ProVoice, ...
