Re: Thales / Racal owners on here?
Do you have the item # so I can look it up? I thought it was deleted when I cleaned up my "My eBay" page a couple weeks ago and cleared all the old stuff out. But I happened to think, I created an ebay folder on my inbox and set up a filter to route everything ebay related there, and I di...

Re: Thales / Racal owners on here?
No, but I was tempted last month. There was an auction on ebay with ... I forget ... 50 or more HT's plus a whole bunch of accessories. I called the seller. They sell stuff for race cars and had radios private labeled. They decided to get out of that and go with a name brand. I am pretty sure he sai...

Re: KPG-36 with Targus Port replicator
I had a similar problem with some Icom software. I had to see an actual serial port and a USB adapter didn't so the trick. I think the only solution is find an old computer someplace and keep it just for that application. I acquired a 486DX laptop in the closet just for that purpose once I get a bit...

Re: TK-760G self programming and software question
My copy of KPG-56D lists the TK-760G, TK-762G, and TK-768G as model choices to program. So yes, that appears to be the correct software. Afraid I can't help on the front programming question. I have had a bit of difficulty programming 760's. I have one that for some reason won't "take" abo...

Re: No Receive WHY
I don't know the 820 or what software you are using, but here are a couple things to check (as in "been there, done that") First is basic radio. You do have the correct receive frequency programmed in the receive memory in the radio? or instance, on 2 meters you would transmit on 147.900 a...

Re: FT-7800R
UMMM I just realized this was in an Icom forum. I have a Yaesu FT-7800R. Is this thread i the wrong forum or am I? Before you box it up and take it back, or get really frustrated and see how far you can throw it, get the programming software and cable as suggested above. My kids got tired of watchi...

Re: tk 760gh
I have one radio ... pretty sure it is a 760g, but it isn't close to go look at ... that is a bit flaky to program. I have programmed it exactly the same 3 times in a row before it took. I only have 1 (thank goodness)

Re: Which Radio
Stan, My quick answer is you will probably be happy with either for a while then want to upgrade. You might check out qrz or eham for a better answer to this question. Both sites seem to have a lot more amateur traffic than RIB. Just remember this is almost an emotional question for some, kind of li...

Re: How to adjust and tune RX and TX Power of Vhf mobile Radios
My first recommendation would be to find a good local dealer, or at the very least someone knowledgeable with VHF antenna tuning. Based on the questions you are asking your technical experience is not all it could be. I would question the meter you have. Most of the economically priced power meters ...

Re: NEED: RELM RH256N MIC
I'll have to check my old radio pile. I remember a Regency dealer one time say if you carried a power switch and a microphone you could fix 75% of the service call on these radios.

Re: Need some assistance with a TK272G and TK730
... Also, How do I put my 272G into programming mode? Could still use manuals for these radios. Thanks. I haven't stumbled across the owner's manual yet, which surprises me. Kenwood has downloadable manuals for several radios but not this one. If I think of it I will see if I can find a TH-272g own...

Re: Need some assistance with a TK272G and TK730
You should be able to use your software tp read the freq's off TK-272g. That is the first thing I do, read the programming off a radio and save it as original.. Then if I mess up I can reload back to a baseline. You can print it out for reference if you want. Now, as far as transferring them to the ...

Re: Program F121 to scan
Just thought of something ... is the mic button grounded? Mine will not scan unless the button is grounded.
edit: Oh, now I see icomradio mentioned that as well. That's what I get for posting before fully reading all the replies.
