What tool is necessary (size, type) for removal/replacement of the volume knob on VX-537?

Thanks again. Is that the only version that is like that? What's the best version to use that will do spaces? Do you have to go to an earlier one or is there a later one that returns that function?

Using CE-49 ver. 5.0 to program my VX-5500. Can't seem to put spaces in the alpha tags. Previous versions had no problem doing this. Am I missing something or did this version not allow spaces in the tags?

Is there any easy way to transfer codeplug info between Vertex models? For example, if you want to transfer VX-800 channel info to a VX-900, etc.

You mean directly on the RF deck?...I didn't see any mic connectors on it. I'll check again.

I know this is an old thread, but I have same setup and cant seem to read/write to the radio. First off, my VX-5500 heads have only one mic connector and it's on the rear , not one on each side. I'm sure I am not the only one who thinks the volume knob on the VX-800 (and other Vertex models) is too small to grab. This is mainly because it is next to the high channel knob. Has anyone changed the knob to one that is easier to use? What brand/part #? Thanks.

Shane...Where did you end up making the purchase?

VX-180 uses CE-44 software and CT-42A cable.
VX-3200 uses CE-52 software and VPL-1 with the RJ-45 attachment.
The VX-900 is as stated above.
