Re: TK380 probs or ???

I'm having this same problem with the TK-380 and talk-around, and the radio seems to scan even when the scan function is disabled. Did no one ever reply to your post? My radios are all V2 and programming with the KPG49D V4.00 windows software. I think its a firmware issue and am looking into it. I'l...

Re: DX Radio Systems Millennium

It was crap. I threw it away and put a Daniels MT-3 on UHF in its place. Much more gooder!

Re: PRC127 (alias LPI series)

I had already been to RBTIPs page, and some of the links were helpful. Sadly, the links to the Communications Repair Depot (wildlandradios.com) do not seem to work any more. I think I have some of the documentation I need, but I'm still wondering about the software. If asking about software is a bad...

FT-7008 UHF HT

I have one of the FT-7008 UHF HTs that I'd like to get some information about. Is service documentation available from anywhere on line for this radio? How does one program one, what software and hardware do I need?

Thanks for any information you might have.

PRC127 (alias LPI series)

I'm not real knowledgeable about BK radios. I have a set of four of the PRC127 military issue VHF HTs complete with programming cable and the field programming module, but no real info to work from. Anyone know where I might find some service documentation on line or in print? Is BK / Relm weird abo...

Daniels Electronics UHF repeater

While I'm waiting for my manuals I thought I'd fish for information here. Do any of you have experience with putting a Daniels UHF repeater on an amateur UHF split? Here's what I have: UT-3/460-SN02 transmitter UR-3H460-SN receiver UT-3/460-SN02/UT-30 power amplifier the rest of the rack (audio cont...

This doesn't pertain exactly to the problem that this thread started with, but my question is about a dual-band single remote head configuration, so I'll ask. I have a dual band system with a 160 channel 630 as radio one and a 32 channel 830 as radio two. The 830 was added to an existing, functional...

Thanks for the info, Jim. Not that it means much, but the receiver sensitivity on the bench was .23uV/12dB SINAD with my 8920. Of course, that tells me nothing about adjacent channel rejection, drift, or any of a number of other things that can go wrong in the field where things count. For now the t...

DX Radio Systems Millennium

I don't know where else to ask this in these forums, so I figured I'd ask here. Do any of you have any experience with UHF repeaters called Millenniums, or "RTF series", made or marketed by a company called DX Radio Systems? I have one of these UHF repeaters in the 450 band that I'd like t...

I was unsuccessful at getting a K2 split (36-42 MHz, roughly?) to tune up into the 50 MHz band. You can modify a K2 to a K3, I've done it, but it's expensive! Probably not worth the money as what you'd spend in the conversion would buy a K3 split TK-630 on eBay. Putting a K3 split on six meters is a...

Hello Steve - First things first. Because your radio deck has W102 cut open, I think it used to be the "# 2" radio in a dual band setup. You can confirm this by looking at IC108 of the TX/RX board. This is the same board that W102 is on, IC108 will be on the opposite end of that board. It ...

Duplex a TK-x30?

Has anyone ever tried to duplex a TK-x30 series mobile radio for use as a repeater? I'm considering trying it on a TK-830, but was wondering if anyone on the board had any experience / advice.

We use the same antennas on the 3180s that we had been using all along with our 380s (the -17A). They're tough, small, and effective in the local area. As most of the HTs are never more than a mile away from the facility, gain isn't too much a factor for us. We could have obtained the newer antennas...

<laughs> That was the attitude we developed several years back when we salvaged all of our SYNTORs, MICORs, and MT500s in favor of the then current Kenwood products, primarily the TK-x30 and x80 series radios. We've never regretted the change. <winks> And yes, all the old Mother-Moto stuff is long g...

<nods in agreement> Hold down the SCAN key, press the OPT (OST) button, and then release both. CODE x should appear in the display and be selectable 1 through 16, corresponding to the 16 entries you made in your CTCSS table. Your OST function and programming the MON button for selectable squelch sho...
