i have a radio icom U 16 thats acting weird ...how do i reset the cpu? it reads 508.xxx on every channel and when i try to change it , it wont accept the new frequency...........it accepts the new ctcss tone but not frequency....

will the 12 volt pin voltage hurt a mike using a 8 vdc .....
input ? or what value would you think would be good to get down to 8 volts to feed near correct voltage ...? the microphone i plan to use is a johnson 16 tone dtmf type (pn#589-7600-022) nice new mike , has a 8 pin on now - but wont for long...... also will need to wire another johnson mike to the s...

keypad on radio but......
it doesnt do anything after i get the writer on display..shorted pins 3,4 and 6 to get writer remove short and pressing the buttons does nothing plus the writting on the keypad is worn off....when turning on radio without program mode it enters the numbers as a keypad would but scan not working ..if...
