Actually, Kenwood is REALLY easy going about software and very reasonably priced (compared to Mother /\/\) If you contact any dealer, they will sell it to you without having to sign your life away.

When I call technical support, they tell me that I have an older version (R11A I believe) and that it will only works with Windows 98. ARRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHH...

OK Folks. After mucho going back and forth with MA/Com and trying all that fancy computer stuff, we finally figured out what the problem was. THEY SENT THE WRONG BLOODY CABLE!! The worst part is that it's going to cost me another $115.00 for the right one. Thak God the weekend is here because I thin...

Yep, I went through the installation set-up and put the radio into the programming mode, but I haven't tried changing the comm port settings. I always assumed that comm 1 was comm 1. I will try it this afternoon and report back.

Yea, that's what I thought as well. The only thing with this radio is that it is in fact a G model and the display reads "CHANNEL 01", CHANNEL 02", etc. Damn thing has me all fudged up. The only thing I can think of is that someone, somewhere aced this thing with 29D software and it w...

OK, tried it again yesterday still with the same results. The radio would only read with the KPG29D software. It laughs at me with the 56D software and wont read or write. (I tried dumping a code plug into it just to see if maybe that was the problem. Is there possibly an earlier version of the 760-...
