I actually looked this up for a friend yesterday. ou need a "programming" adapter to do it. On the portable it plugs into the mic jack, and on a mobile into a programming port.
I think they cost around $20.

Johnson / Icom
Its not the cable for the F121, you need the cable for the F320/420 series radio. Thats the older style icom radio that that lloks just like the johnson. I even use the Icom F320 software on them.

OK, That I think is right, bu I want 2 differnt PL's on Channel 1. This is a stand alone repeater site. It s used as a 911 admin channel, but want to add another occassional user, but not have to monitor it.

Master III Multi PL Tones
? Does this base allow multiple PL tones on conventional thru the base. We have one and need to add one PL tone in addition to the one in it. Really dont want to add external controls, and if thats the case, will probally suffer with one tone.

As far as I can remember it is all software programmable. Most people never look at that, program the radio and ship it out. On all the programming disks there is normally an "Adjust" program.

Well I have both a JT1000 VHF and a UHF. Since I purchased my F30/40GT I have not used the motorola.. They are field programmable to an extent. Very nice radio....but now they sit as I have the F70/80
