proper cable

Vince... help me out.
I have a couple different cables around here:
19D901740G1 (is this the 550 only cable?) & the 1739G1 as well. Is this what I have confused???

I'm from the EDACS side of the fence, don't do much conventional RANGR stuff.

850 head

the 850 head is "EDACS" only. if using a conventional radio, you need the 825 head (& appropriate control cable).

you can use a 550 head on an 825 cable, but no 825 head on a 550 cable.

you need "S825" programming software to program the head. after the head is programmed, it sends the personality to your rangr (a jumper has to be set properly in the radio to accept the personality).

are you trying to read the head with rangr software?

this is how you align the radio... not a secret, just a bad place to be without a comm. service monitor.

Re: GE TMX 8630 800mhz

Hi Group, Thanks for reading. I am new to the group and I hope I am in the right section. I am looking for power plug wiring for the GE TMX 8630 800mhz unit . This unit is missing the power plug and I don't want to smoke it up by hooking up power the wrong way. If anybody can turn me in the right d...

Re: MDX Flashing

I am looking for some one who knows how to get an MDX 800 trunking radio to do more than 1 system/16 channels. I Cloned my MPA into the MDX but I can only access the first 16 channels in the first system. I read the radio and it has all the systems and groups. I am assuming that there is a byte in ...

I've had the fun experience of installing several of them in a single control head dual-radio setup. FD here has that setup in all Battalion Chief's (BC's also have a VHF 100w for mutual aid), Pumper, Rescue & Quint rigs. Using an 800 EDACS 35w for dispatch/tac & the conv 800 35w for firegro...

my organization programs EDACS MPA/MTL, PCS, & Rangr with PII-300 notebooks (win95 in DOS box) & on PIII desktops (running NT)

been using this setup for several years now... can't say that i've personally seen any problems using faster computers.

MPA "hamflash"

i think what you are looking for is called "hamflash". heard it through the grapevine about this being done on vhf radios but i don't know if it would work on a 900 meg radio.

no, i don't know where to get this... need to find someone from lynchburg VA to help you there.

good luck
