Kenwood Vhf TK280 (250 ch.5 watt portable)
I see the the kenwood tk280 vhf
250 channel potable has battery
problems.We run into a memory problem
with these batteries and they needed
to be conditioned a couple of times
to get them to keep a CHARGE.

The number one thing that is WRONG
is the RG58 cable is a BIG NO-NO
Use at least RG213

RG58 co-ax 17 feet is our CUT-OFF.
We do not run RG58 longer than 17 FEET.
When we have UHF we try to go to RG8X
as the least try cable to use.
The line loss adds up FAST.

Well the Kenwood cable is costly
We found the kenwood cables costly.
We have a number of after market
kenwood cables and they have never
failed us.
There are a few bad cableas ot there
but when you know what you are looking
for then they are very cheap and work fine.
