No, it will not do either. With the windows software, no out of band programming. With the older DOS programs, you could go slightly but not what you need.

 I beleive you will need an external decoder. We recomend the Cimmeron Technology multiformat decoder. With this one, you can decode multiformats: MDC1200, GStar, DTMF ANI, and I think fleetsync if I got it right. Cannot remember the cost, but it is a nice desk top unit. They do have a web sit...

 I prefer the vx900. You can now ad a mdc 1200 encode and DECODE board to the radio. It will display mdc1200 id's in the display window. You can also program alias's to go with them. Three year warenty is great also. Vertex just introduced two new radio's. VX820 and 920. Both are available wit...

The Cimmeron board will encode and decode in the vx537. Along with alias tags if you wish. Not sure on the cost. We have some on order but I have not seen them as of yet. The vx900/800/537/420 series ports will encode/decode. The vx4200 mobile will also with the board. the 420 port has two tone pagi...

 I may have the DOS program in the laptop. Just need to find the laptop. Moved a month ago, some things still missing. The board for MDC1200 is made by Cimmeron corp. It will progrsm with the vertex windows software, not sure about the DOS. Where to buy, not sure. Check for the company website...

 If memory serve correctly, the DOS software may let you go out of band. I only have the windows software for the 600/900. BTW, if you want to do MDC1200, get the Cimeron Corp board. It will encode and DECODE the signalling. Great radio. Have sold many to PD's and fire. just the right size, an...
