Just got the radio and it works great in analog mode, but when I try to put a digital frequency in, it only receives "pops". That is the only way I can describe it. Any ideas? Does this mean that I don't have that option available in the radio? It lets me program just about anything I want...

I just bought the radio, used of course. M/A-Com won't deal with individuals directly, so I have to go through an authorized dealer. FMR is not authorized to redistibute feature strings and the place here in Texas told me that they may not be able to sell me the string because some agencies use that...

I just bought one of these radios and am curious about the P25. If in P25 mode, will it talk to an Astro Saber/XTS motorola radio in IMBE mode? I'm guessing that it will, but I want to make sure as the feature string for the P25 option is pretty expensive. Speaking of feature strings, does your M710...

Only thing is, I have to use the EDACS software and the addresses are not the same. It complains everytime I try to write to the radio.

I've had good luck in the past with 44, so I guess I'll stay with that. I didn't even think of using the file from the VHF to load into the lowband.

Sweet!

What does G45 offer that G44 can't do?

I did, but that wasn't the problem. I just finished fixing it. Problem was the black plastic that secures the board to the control head was cracked and was not holding the board in place. It was just enough to not light the LEDs, but enough to allow for the buttons to work. I replaced the plastic pi...

Updating Flash for an Orion

Anyone have any insight on this? My VHF has G44 for the flash. I'm going to set it up as a dual radio setup with a lowband radio, but I'm certain the lowband is going to be lower than that (don't have it in hand yet).

How hard is it to update the flash in the lowband model?

M/A-Com Stickers

Does anyone have a source for the "M/A-Com" stickers that go on the control head and the microphone of an Orion?

Mine currently says "GE Communications" and I'd like to change it to say "M/A-Com".

Thanks!

Orion Keypad not backlit?

I've had Orions in the past and all of the keypads on them would light up, but the one I have at present does not light up. The display is bright blue, but no light what so ever is emitting from the keypad. Anyone know where I should look? I looked in Programmer, but couldn't find anything related t...

So putting an EDACS VHF radio together with a conventional lowband radio is out of the question even if they both are Orions?

Orion & M7100 - Can they be Piggybacked?

I really want to get an M7100 VHF model so I can use it for EDACS, ham and for listening to stuff in the higher bands that the EDACS Orion would not do. My question is, can you use the Orion and the M7100 together on a single control head? I know you can use two M7100s or two Orions, I was wondering...

Changing LPE Types - Scan to System

How do you do this? I tried to just create a profile, but the download stops and says it doesn't match the radio type... I had a scan model (6 button front), but bought a replacement front cover (15 button front). Radio looks AWESOME now, and it's no big deal, just thought it would be cool to have a...
