Re: Vertex VX-3000 UHF tunning

You need the alignment software for the vx3000. i am not sure, but you may also need the "tuning box" vertex used on some older series of radios. Usually the 450-490 wend down to the ham band well, just did need some tweeking.

Re: VX-537 question

it will do either. But on each channel, you have a choice of either MDC1200 or GE star.

The VMDE200 will encode and decode. The VME100 will only encode. 537 is a workhorse.

eBay for the best deal. I work for radio shop, and I buy my own cables and never had any problem with them. it will work with the VX 600/900/4000/5500/6000.

Re: VX-500 and VX-510 difference?

From what i remeber, cosmetics. The housing is a little different. There were some changes inside, but nothing to really set them apart. They both did have display problems. Dropping them hard, would often destroy the display.

Both reliable radios. A little heavy, but reliable.

Re: VX-537 question

I have a VX924, 450-512 split. It can do 440 with a little modification with hex editer. And it will encode decode MDC1200 with the cimmeron board. The 537 is one tough radio. I have not seen any of the 537's we have sold come back in for any problems as you described. If you have a choice, i would ...

Got my new TM V 71A. Love it. programming question:

How can I keep entries sorted as to 2 meter on the left, and 440 on the right??

I could have missed it in the software. As I was in a hurry to get it up and running. Nice radio.

Thnaks.

Re: 1000 Series repeater

I have a UHF model. Currently on 463.xxx.

Like I said, it was free, in very good condition, works great on current. Just hoping it slides down to 444.xxx/449.xxx.

Got 8 db gain antenna free, and controller free.

Re: VX-824--Prog for 2 tone decode

i do not have my alptop here, but in the paramater section if I remeber, you need to tell it to unmute when 2 tone received. I think it is in the pull down where you set which 2 tone pair, or pairs to open to. if this was no help, let me know. I can send you my file tomorrow from work, just look it ...

FT 880R programming

Just got my new FT880R. Nice radio. Any one have any easy set up guide to program?? I primarily use pc based software, and did not buy the software and cable for this radio.

Read the manual that come with it. Yeh, right. Unless I am that dumb, could be.

Any one???

Thanks.

Alignment. It is done with the firmware writer thru the DB 25 connector on the rear. It also uses the SVC49 software. Best to have a dealer do it if you have one local. Regular programming software will not align. You close to Pittsburgh??

Re: Apollo VP200

Problems?? OH yes!! Open squelch, stored voice, buttons quit working. I have 8 in my fire company in the 460 split. No problems. Got a bunch on the next split, problems never end. Getting a RMA is exciting. Calling in for tek support is even more entertaining. I have 2 units in for 6 weeks now. Stil...

Re: HYT Radios

We got our demos in a month ago. Still sitting in the box. We looked at them. Nice radios. The MDC function if I remeber is not MDC1200 as we all know it, unless somthing changed. So far we have no interest from any customers in them. Most of the models do not have a usable bandwith for us. We need ...

Apollo VP200

Any one else using the new Apollo VP 200 pagers???

Having a problem with the recording time of the stored voice. Never seems to be what it is set for in the software.

Some messages get clipped off, some work fine. Does not seem to be with strength of receive signal.

Thanks.
