Re: 2003 Passat RFI problem

Here is what I learned several years ago. According to a GM Service Bulletin: 1. Braid or twist the power and ground leads the full length of the cord. 2. The power cord should be routed from the location of the radio directly to the battery. 3. Make sure that the power cord and the antenna coax are...

Re: Regency PROGRAMMER identification?? It's for sale too.

You have an RFP hand held programmer. It programs the Regency RBH252, RFH252B, RFU152, and the RELM RFH252N and RFH252NB. They are two channel mobiles. It will not work on any other models.

Re: LPH-5141 Instructions

If you want to go into the ham band and your LPH is not currently set up to do it you will need to change some hex codes. These hex codes can only be changed using a programming cable, an older PC running Windows 95 or 98 with the ability to shut down and go into the pure MSDOS mode, and the LPH pro...

Re: GPH problems

In case you are still waiting for a reply here is what I suspect. There is a scan switch at the top of the radio, usually the one closest to the antenna and yellow LED. If flipping it does nothing, check the programming of this switch. Make sure that one of the switches is designated as the Scan swi...

Re: Uniden Radio

The Uniden SMH250 is a VHF 25 watt mobile. It requires a programming interface and computer capable of running in the true MSDOS mode (Windows 95 era). I would recommend that you contact the Uniden Guru, Dennis Duffield, if you need more information. He has 25 plus years experience with the Uniden p...

Re: I think I am over engineering things

Now we are getting to the details that matter. Forget the Basic microprocessor board because it is out of your price range once you add up everything else. Your idea to utilize the CWIDer for keying the radio would be the most simple to use. The sensors would have to trip a relay or FET transistor t...

Re: So how do I do this ?

You are asking to for a lot to happen at a low cost. Are you wanting someone to develop this gadget for you or are you going to do all of the research and development? There are low power data transceivers that might do the trick but I do not know of any cheap throw together systems for what you wan...

Regency/RELM RSP500, 500B, 400 battery packs

The only person that I know that has any new/never used batteries is Michael Rink. At last conversation he had 80 or so but I do not remember what he was asking for them. The only contact information I have on him is phone number 828-322-5813.

I hope this helps.

Uniden power cord

Check with Dennis Duffield, RELM's Uniden expert. Even if RELM does not have a power cord he can refer you to someone that will. Dennis used to be the Uniden technical advisor of the two-way products.

Ceramic resonator failures

I have seen ceramic resonator fail because of vibration (in a vehicle) or shock (the radio got dropped) or corrosion. There is a ceramic detector but I have not found a web site stating that they are in use in two way communications. (Flat Ceramic Detectors (FCD) Technology. #1086. Flat Ceramic Dete...
