Mark,
The orange lead of the power plug is the igintion sensor. You want to apply +13.6vdc to it or the radio will not turn on. The RMV60 typically draws 15 amps during transmit.

Bill

WD-40
I use WD-40 for cleaning corroded PC boards, and when we get horizonal rain, (usually during a hurricane), I use it on my AC sockets located on the outside walls when my GFI breaker pops. The WD40 expells the water and then you can use the socket within minutes. I have sprayed it in the cheap switch...

You can program it for ham band frequencies (144 to 147MHz) but it will not work unless someone has already modified and retuned it for that range. The required mods are listed on my web site. (http://www.billscommsol.com) To retune it you will need a DVM, service monitor, and watt meter. The SCV32 ...

As long as you have an "A" range mobile you should be able to install a good set of crystals and retune the receiver and transmitter. Of coarse you need proper test equipment and tuning tools. The cheap crystals will not work as they generally do not have enough drive and the frequency is ...

Ham mods and more for the Regency VHF keypad mobiles
It has taken me a lot longer than I thought to become legal, remember how to make a web site, and learn a few new tricks. On my web site I have posted all the mods you can do to a Regency or Wilson VHF 10 and 16 channel mobile transceiver. If you have a need check them out. Regards, Bill http://www....

Re: More INformation...
Steve, The MCPH251 has a maximum transmit output of 2.5watts. Crystals might still be available from International Crystal Manufacturing. See link: (http://www.icmfg.com/). The radio would have to be tuned to your frequency. Tunible or programmable after market tone boards were installed in some rad...

Re: Bendix King EPH5101 VHF Flexmode 210 channel
The EPH5101 is normally a 14 channel radio and the 210 channel portables (EPH5102) normally came with the alpha/numeric display. Check with BK/RELM but I believe you need an LAA0650. http://www.relm.com I will check my inventory of parts if you are interested in a used Alpha/numeric display. Regards...

Re: Repair info needed on Regency MCPH handheld
Talion, Those are old radios. There could be a problem with the speaker and the microphone element, but there are many other possibilities too. The factory no longer supports these models but you may contact me via email if you have any other questions or need parts. I still have a few parts and rep...

Re: B/K Narrow band programming.......
kmoose, If I understand, you are impling that you have installed the newer MP in an attempt to make a wide band radio into a narrow band/ wide band capable transceiver. Am I close? If so, the early versions of the EPH do not have the "Flex Mode" capability, meaning it switches to narrowban...

Mugsy, Yes it is. Normally that model of radio is 210 channels (15 groups of 14 channels), has a programmable aphla-numeric display, and operates from 450MHz to 512MHz. You can go to my web site and look up the free model specific programming information. http://www.billscommsol.com Regards, Bill

Brett, I will be posting them for free on my web site within the next few weeks. The problem is that depending on the vintage (the week of manufacture), you could be adding, removing and changing up to 38 parts. It will take me a while to document everything. Keep an eye out at: http://www.billscomm...

Wally, I have a couple that are as new as they get. I purchased them new about three and a half years ago from RELM and they have been sitting in a parts bin since. As I understand it, the factory no longer supports that product and no longer have parts. I have been selling them for my cost plus shi...
