Re: Tk730 / Tk830 Dual band issue

Re: TK-730 Help
I had one that would power on then go blank like yours after a few seconds with an orange screen and nothing worked.
After hours and hours of fiddling I found a capacitor in the control head had leaked and eaten into a trace underneath it. I would look for leaky caps.

Re: Standard GX2000 UHF Mobile Transceiver
I have Kenwood software that will run in Windows but will only communicte with the radio in DOS. I have had success using a bootable floppy to start a computer in DOS then run the software off a floppy. Can your computer boot off a floppy?

Re: TK-830 TX audio
Flip the radio so the coax conenctor is to the rear on your left. Take off the cover. Look for VR101 near the front, this adjusts mic sensitivity. VR102 is squelch adj and VR103 is squelch CONT (?). On the other side of the radio are 3 pots in a row on the left. VR301 is deviation, VR 302 is DQT and...

Re: TK-830 TX audio
Is it just on the 830 radio or both bands? My recollection is that there is a pot to adjust that. I'll need to look in my service manual.

Re: Need channel eprom part number, TK-630
Band doesn't matter. That price was what kenwoodparts.com showed. There are differently labelled EPROMS for dual band or dual head setups, but I read some that I have with an EPROM programmer and they were identical. It was a fairly new version but not the newest.

Re: Need channel eprom part number, TK-630
are talking about the little 8 pin which contains the programming data or the larger EPROM which contains the firmware? "Here are the numbers for the EPROMs used in 30 series radios. I have found that the newer versions are the same however. I have checked version JPWD and found that FAA, FAB a...

Re: Tait programing
I tinkered with some 2030 radios that are quite similiar. It wasn't hard to do but they only offer a small number of conventional channels. They were narrowband only and no PL.
