Re: Forum Re-Alignment and Additions

Looks great Alex.

Only thing I would suggest is under "Amateur" and "Commercial" is putting "Other" to accomodate
other manufactures, as an example such as Alinco which does not seem to fit any where.

Re: Milcom 220Mhz RF Amps - Update

Bringing back this older thread for an update. I finally got a hold of a NewMar 24VDC 16 Amp supply and did some preliminary bench testing today. With 150mW input into this amplifier I got 75W out of the directional coupler on the output. I bypassed the directional coupler and got approx 87W on the ...

Re: some better photos of this radio

Howard - it looks like a Vertex FTL-7011 UHF conventional radio or similar.
There is usually a model/sn tag on the (radio facing you) right side towards
the back on the heat sink. Sometimes they get stripped off.

Re: UHF radio installation into a 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid

I did a MCS2000 UHF radio install in the ford hybrid suv ( i think it was the escape model ) and there was no difference from any other install I have done in the past. All the same precautions ( air bag clearances, hole drilling clearances, etc. ) as any other vehicle.

Icom older mobile(circular 8 pin plug) hands free options

Q1.Anyone know of any (besides homebrew) hands free headsets for the older icom mobiles? I was wondering if there was anything commercially available since all the politics these days seems to be leaning towards making criminals out of someone driving down the road & talking into a microphone on a r...

Does anyone have any experiance replacing the battery pin assembly on these radio pc boards? It sure seems like mission impossible to me without destroying the replacement units.

Re: Ericsson Panther 500P VHF Opinions

Thanks Tom - someone else sent me the users manual in pdf and I was able to figure it out. Strange you can not access the scan list via the program software. Guess i have to get out of the moto state of mind. :)

Re: Anybody hae experience with a battery conditioner?

We use the Cadex 7000 with the charge cups for our particular portable batts(MTS2000, XTS2500/5000, HT1250) and it works fantastic. I have to agree with k2hz that for NiCads & NiMH batts the absolute max you could expect out of these is about 2 years(especially for pub saftey use). You may get 3 yea...

I have 13 channels programed some with & without CG but even though some channels have activity the scan function does not stop on those active channels. Any idea's where I went wrong...

MastrIIE / MastrIII Station Plug in card Repairs

Does anyone know of any companies that still do component level repairs on the GE MastrIIE / MastrIII station plug in pcb cards? I have a couple in need of repair and presently do not know of anyone that does this kind of repair work. TIA, DE Dan N2AYM
