They did provide the Maxon ... but in the area where my office is the reception sucks. I just was looking for an upgrade when I bought the Cobra ( I saw the 8 mile range on the package). Range depends on a large number of different things such as: Buildings (different building material, height, etc...

From what I understand, there is the ability to "fingerprint" radio waves. However, I don't see this as being something that the average lay person can do. In order to do this, they would have to probably have some sort of spectrum analysis off the offending interfearence as well as your r...

You don't see many SSE5000's in and around the City. Last time I saw one on someones belt was a year ago. Almost everyone around midtown seems to carry UHF sabers still - couple vertex here and there. Officers assinged to the MTA NYCT details almost always have VHF sabers on the transit frequency's....

TO fix the date problem, I stripped out the replies, and here they are: Railroad Joe PostPosted: 06 Nov 2006 20:01 Post subject: The model of my radio is a TK-730. The radio box underneath the rear seat says KRK-3DH. If there is another way to tell which model I have, I cannot tell. The only way I f...

Date problem

I'm aware of the date problem on the board- however, work is keeping me very busy at this time, and I can't address this as quickly as I'd like. For now - be patient. You can still post, however, if it's in an '06 thread - the board will sort by date in the thread - your posts will just show up befo...

This should really no longer be a problem - as it's now sitting on a 20mbit pipe.

You need to buy the software from Kenwood, or an authorized dealer. It's not free.

IF you would post the specific error, where exactly you were in the system, etc, then I can work to fix the problem.

It's more the fact that I don't know enough about different radio manufactures and different people's 3rd party applications to know within a couple of seconds of reading a post that the stuff isn't freely avaliable to anyone (and sometimes you can't find the licenses publicly avalible online quickl...

I would read up on what the regulations are for the channels, and program based off of that.

You can find them on the net pretty easily.

Re: Is this board slower than cold molasses or is it me?

I have a fairly fast connection. Several times faster than dialup. But accessing ANYTHING on this board is painfully slow. I may set for a mintue or more waiting for it to load. Anyplace else I go it's no problem. I've tried IE, Firefox, and Opera 8. None seem to make a difference. I click on a pag...

SOFTWARE - Get it for free right here!

Well at least you read the post... Asking for it, posting locations for it, giving it to others through this board is a violation of the rules. You will just be kicked off, and quite possibly, have your whole subnet banned. I have a 0 tolerance for this. IF the software is freeware - you must also p...
