Re: ICOM F121 getting the software to connect and read the radio
The only software available for the 320 is DOS based. ICOM has no plans for a windows version.

Re: IC-F3 narrowband
At one point ICOM sold a narrowband F3 radio in addition to the wideband version. It was specific to the radio. You could not switch between the two unfortanetly.

5100 ES Portable Radio
OK, So I have this brand new radio - Model # 242-557d-810HL6 The radio is supposed to be a 800 Mhz 48 Talkgroup radio. The issue I keep getting is Zone Fail. I dumped in an archive for my other portable and go t this. I started a file from scratch. If I have only 1 Multi-Net zone I am ok, as soon as...

Re: ICOM F121 getting the software to connect and read the radio
No programming mode at all. Make sure you have the proper cable - OPC-1122 and have current software. Other than that just click read or write. what are you getting come up ? a serial port error ? Radio must be on. I program tons of these an have never had an issue, with the exception of newer firmw...

Re: Icom p25
Have used them since they were released in VHF. I love the portable, and the mobile is really ok. I dont use it daily in P25, but the rest of the features are nice also. When I am at my brothers visiting the Blue Ridge Mountains I program in all the P25 NPS stuff and use it also. I have had good luck

Re: Icom F121 cable
Sorry, I looked high and low. I must of chucked the diagram. Unfortanetly the cable thru ICOM is a OPC-1122 (RS232) that lists for $88.00. The OPC-1122U (USB Version) lists at $105.00. If you have a burning desire to own one, pm me and I'll see what the best price I can do.

Re: Icom F121 cable
I can probally get them, however the cable uses a built in rs232 converter. Its not like the old F320 type with the jumper. Last time I looked at building one, I think it ended up being a bit cheaper to order another one. I'll try to dig out the info I had on it.

Re: EF Johnson 5100 ES
apparently you did not check all your local shops as I can along with the current radio vendor. I just ordered and receved my 5100ES 800 Mhz unit. I have just successfully programmed it to Oswego County parameters and it works fine. I'd be curious to know where you got that radio as there were many ...

Re: 5100 ? Asend ES
Yup, but this is what our county has, no choice.
Anyway got it all programmed with one glitch. Our Key for the county in all our summits is a 5 didgit #. The new program will only accept 4 digits. Anyone have a clue ?? All the LTR and Conventional work fine, only the multi-net that does not

AJ,
First off that radio was LTR. Oswego is Multi-net and that won;t work on it. As for Mics, I may be able to find you a reasonable priced one. PM me

5100 ? Asend ES
OK. My new portable just arrived. It is a Asend ES portable 800 Mhz Multi-Net. After 3 hours of playing with the software I am baffled. Does anyone have an existing archive for one of these already. Starting from scratch is a PITA, and NO one in my county has one of these.
