The cable for this radio is very cheap on Ebay, and easy to build yourself.

The software can probably be downloaded if you know where to look. It's a very small dos program.

With a radio with capabilities like that, you need to get the software and program it properly.

YMMV

Re: MRK -> MPA programming cable

Everyone, I have now finally gotten my MPA/AEGIS radios, after some excruciating delays and all those woes with MRK II before that. Only to discover that the MRK and MPA programming cables are different. I currently have a Price Industries MRK-2 ribless programming cable. Before I sigh and spit out...

I would like to make a report from the field. The vx-920 definitely outperforms my HT-1250, and my 1250 outperforms my HT-1000. This is on the UHF band in NYC. We have lots of intermod and other interference. This radio is smaller, lighter, the battery lasts longer. I especially like the lithium bat...

What flavor of radio are you looking for ie full dtmf or three buttons?

I have some misc parts but they are all for conventional radios. I don't know if they are compatible with a trunking model.

I would also like to mention that if you attempt to use a narrowband radio on a wide system. You will get low audio on the wide receivers.

So in short you must use compatible equipment for both technical as well as legal reasons.

I have a vx-920 in UHF complete with the VDME 200 board. Radio works great decodes mdc and encodes my company's tones. PLus it's submersible so I can carry it on my jet ski and still be in service. This radio also does wide narrow selectable by channel. With many systems going narrowband it may be a...

Sometimes strange things happen, and NYC gets embarrassed or backended into certain things. For example, back in the day the NYPD has RMPs that had manual steering. When power steering began to be offered as an option, NYPD declined because they didn't want to have maintain power steering systems fo...

Okay, I've come to understand that this is the case. However, what are the chances that I can take this board off an AEGIS enabled GE Ericsson M-PA (product ID: PAPATH) - there's a bunch of those for sale cheap on eBay, but all worn out and without batteries etc. I don't know if the M-PA board will...
