Re: Bendix/King and VHF question
Sorry to be a bother with this but it seems like the more knowledge I get the more questions I get. This is probably the best thing for you.... Seems like a bit of a silly statement, but the whole radio spectrum, use plan, and frequency allocations is not necessarly an easy thing to understand stra...

Re: TK-760 info. request
Ch 1, ch 2 etc. plus other pre set display characters (while in different functions) is all the radio is capable of. Correct: they are 32 channel radio's Since there is no "H" on the end of the model number, they would be 25 watt radio's tk-760H are 45 watts. as you look at the back of the...

There are several makes of USB to serial adaptors. We use them to connect to telephone equipment at work. Unfortunatly I don't have one handy right now to let you know make/model....

Re: tk-762 programming problem
A bit more info on the radio. do you have anything plugged into the mic connector? (separate powered desk top mic?) are there any other wires other than antenna and power hanging out the back of the radio? what version of software are you using to program? what is the exact model of the radio? edit:...

Re: tk-762 programming problem
I have a tk-760 and two tk-762 radio's. Yes you can wright the 760 program to the 762 radio's (if you get good with the scan and channel buttons you are able to access all 32 channels on the 2 channel radio  ) I think all you will have to do is set up a new radio in software then wright that to...

Re: Kenwood TK-2180
Yes radio can be used Ham and type for 136-174 MHZ !!! Sure, the radio will permit you to program ham and fire frequencies in there at the same time. That doesn't mean the law will allow you to do that. Either you are using the radio for ham, OR you are using the radio for fire frequencies. Both ar...

Re: tk-760-h panel lites gone
O.K., here's the latest.I have 1.02 vdc on that line, all the way to the ribbon connector. I traced that across the main board to r-247, which has 13.8 vdc on the supply side. R-247 measures 440 ohms (within specs). I get 13.8 on the output when the control board is unplugged, it drops to 1.02 when...

Re: help needed with a TK 272g-2
I have the kpg56D V3.10 software. when I read the code plug on the radio, it came up as a TK 272g 136-150mhz, I changed it to a TK 272g 150-174 mhz and programmed it. That's where you should have stopped.... change the radio to 150-174, and reprogram your frequencies manually. Do not try and reload...

Re: help needed with a TK 272g-2
There should be two "ranges" on your radio. One range would be from 136-154 and the second range would be from 148-174 (actual frequencies are more than likely different but you should get the idea here...) On my kenwood tk-760 If I were to set the radio to start up as 150-1 the frequency ...

Re: Upgrading Forum
The neon green was tough to look at
I think you'll have to get some more smilies when you get a chance
I think it's neat you get to chose the board style you want to view the site in
edit: could you post a link to the "batboard" please?

Re: Upgrading Forum
Alex,I prefer the old format. Maybe I am jus too old and set in my ways, but the older version was more functional. Sometimes new and improved is not. mod I agree... (not that I have a lot of say in the matter...) just playing here... Click on "user control panel" click on "boar...

I went to Dealer Tools and looked around, the radio is not listed. The KPG-55d software is available but it does not specify what version it is. Re: The problem is board policy
Alex does not like to get the board involved in software too much. The plicy states Asking for it, posting locations for it, giving it to others through this board is a violation of the rules. Having said that, I would say your request is within those policies as long as what you are trying to do i...
