Just caught up to you guy's....

I had the old address bookmarked http://radio.the161.net/index.php and kept having my connection refused when I tried to access the board.

For a moment there I thought this place had gone under, I posted a thread over at the radio reference board enquiring and found you had changed addresses.....

Standard rate charger with NiCd batteries is an 8 hour charger?

Batteries feel warm after sitting for 8 hours.... I understand that isn't really good for the batteries.

It charges knb-15A batteries The label on the bottom reads: Input DC 12V 300mA output DC 10V 100mA DC 10V 170mA Made in Taiwan W08-0598 Is this a rapid charger or the 12 hour one? Dirtslinger, what are the frequency steps on the 2207 2.5 or 5 kHz? What software version do you use to program it?

I have been eyeballing them. I just haven't made the plunge and bought one yet.

If you are looking at 2107's off ebay keep in mind those radio's more than likely don't have any fcc or industry canada approval. As a rough translation, you won't find a radio shop in north america that will work on them.

AAAhhhh.... so you found that foreign site too eh?
I believe bsy is the busy channel lockout, keeps you from transmitting over someone else when you are using tone coded squelch
I am going to guess SHFT is shift what it does, I have no idea....

battery conditioner/discharger???

I am looking for ideas on a battery discharger for kenwood KNB-15A batteries. (takes the battery right down to zero)
The concept is pretty simple, build a box to hold the battery and have a resistor between the terminals. What size resistor? Any other fancy circuitry?

Motorola frs radio's

Motorola talkabout T5100. The cheap 1/2 watt radio that can at best get you a half mile range. I was eyeballing mine the other day and decided to pull one of them apart and found the antenna was nothing more than a twizzled paper clip. I am looking for opinions on modifying the radio to have a BNC c...

I called a radio shop on friday, apparently I can get a firmware update to make these have 16 channel capacity. I pulled the channel knob up a bit and the dial has the capacity for 16.

No, mainly for the simple reason I need a cable.

The question I am asking is why does the hardware support four channels?
Is there a special software load (that I don't have) that supports four channels? Did I land up with two hack job radio's?
Thanks,
