Re: Programming a TK-240D
Yes, I have an old slow DOS computer for programming. I have learned that I must use the KPG-8 cable and that the cable requires a DC supply. Since I do not want to buy a cable, I am left with programming the radio with self programming. I have been told that self programming requires a jumper chang...

Re: Programming a TK-240D
I found the self programming instructions and they do not work for me. I tried to use my KPG 22 cable with KPG-9 and could not read the radio. Does the radio need to be put into a programming mode?

Re: Programming a TK-240D
I need to delete 15 channels and reprogram the remaining channel. It might easier to use software. I will look for the user program instructions and see what they say.

Programming a TK-240D
I need to program a TK-240D. My list says to use KPG-9D software and KPG-8 cable. My cable is a factory Kenwood KPG-22. Will the KPG-22 work? If not, is there anything to do other than buy another cable? Who sells a cheap cable for one time use?

Vertex Problems ?
Everytime I call Vertex for help in solving a problem, their only answer is to update the frimware in the radio and control head. Has updating firmware ever fixed a broken or intermittant radio for you?

VX3200V - No receive audio
I have a VX3200V with no beeps or received signal audio. Also the squelch is open because the busy icon and LED are flashing. There is audio input to the audio PA IC. The + 13.8 is not on the IC because it is not switched on by Q1515. Have you seen this problem and what caused it?

TK-760HG-1 Help
I have a TK-760HG-1 and I plugged an ICOM mic into it. The Kenwood now has a problem of no PTT. I removed the front panel and found a small three legged part smoked. The board is stamped VR501 above the part. Is this a voltage regulator, transistor, or a dual diode? This part is behind the mic conne...
