I've done the switch for the second 8 channels. You'll need to get hold of the schematic and locate the unused line in the channel select group, may be called mode a/b or something. How about a J-pole. You could hang it from the ceiling, even disguise it as a plant :'). Simple to make, you could probably hang it in the window too. You don't have tinted windows do you?
