Unfortunately not, the controller on the MTL is hard coded as a 16 channel MTL radio only if it is a VHF which 99% of them were. If it was a MTL900 or 900 GENET MTL then you could hamflash it or reflash it with MPA firmware and go that route. I just went thru the exact same problem as you are and I ...

the select model also has a display in it but as everyone else mentions only 16 channels and basic operation that is not alterable on a per channel basis from the keypad. Also to hamflash any of the MPA radios, you need to have a 081 or 628 style controller board that was only available in the vario...

price P96 rib all the way. As for the speed of the PC, I have used various pentiums running under true dos for my MPDs, MPAs and S825s but for the MCS even a 33 MHZ 486 was way to fast, I had to drop down to a 386 for the MCS so keep this in mind when actually sitting down and programming. Now the P...

That is correct all of the RF boards are interchangeble but it's just that there are some that have a single 2nd IF and some that have a dual 2nd IF and some of the singles are either 12.5 or 25 KHz. Either way the MRK's are nice radios and not about to become obsolete in the near future especially ...

From LBI 38746G for the MRK radio line switchable means the radio is capable of either 12.5 KHz (narrowband) or 25 KHz (standardband) channel spacings. To get technical there are 3 versions of the MRK that you could find; 1 is the switchable(12.5 or 25 KHz channel spacing version) the 2nd is the 25 ...

Thanks, this is a friends radio I think it is the basic model but even if not , 32 channels should be suitable to fill up most if not all of the 10 FM channels.

will the tk630H low split low band radio program down to 29.0 MHz and if so is it direct programming or a hack in the software ? Also what software and cable does the radio use and are there any internal mods needed to get it into programming mode ? And how many channels does this radio have ? Mike ...

Go to the FCC page above for the Vx3000 schematic and scroll down to page 5, it shows the D sub9 connections.

while in the channel entry field press F1 Addn'l and it should expand the 'Channel Options' display on the right side of the display to show more channel options such as STE and TXL. You of course want STE. I just tried it on 11.1 and it works for me.

I Have a VRS that uses the low power Mastr exec II Mobile radio. The system ID is 82A01, It is VHF with a VRS part number of PL19C851179-G1. I finally had time to check my software and I ran MPA version 11.1 and it does support the MTL radio so now I'm not sure of your problem; however, I don't have a VHF MTL to check it on so I can't say 100% that is reads a radio. The next question is if your radio really is a VHF MTL, maybe it is a ge...
