Bendix King Programming Instructions

I just got an old UHF Bendix King, but when I put it in the programming mode it doesn't stay in that mode. It almost seems like the battery is shot. Will a bad battery cause this to happen?

My experience has been that you really can't have both wide band performance AND gain at the same time. Since you want wide band performance, concentrate on a good wideband antenna AND very good feedline. I happen to think most scanner owners ought to at least give some consideration to a good quali...

Is this for a transceiver or just a scanner radio receivers? What frequencies ranges are you interested in? Is this for use in a mobile environment or at a fixed station?

Kenwood APCO P-25 800 mHz transceiver vehicle adapter

It is possible that I will be issued a Kenwood APCO P-25 800 mHz portable transceiver in the future. Does Kenwood make a drop in charger amplifier for these?

As far as dual-band commercial portable transceiver, look here: http://www.radioinfoboard.com/viewtopic.php?t=1209 Pretty much the the Vertex 2070 was it, although they can configure a portable with receive only on the second band. Maybe that means that Vertex is close to re-introducing a dual-band ...

Interesting, it is almost like Yaesu/Vertex/Standard is teasing us by offerring receive only on the sub-band. The flip side is maybe this is a step in the right direction and they will have a dual-band out in a few years.

TK-760G Scanning Features

Can anyone tell me more about the scanning functions of the Kenwood TK-760G? Specifically, can groups be set up so that I can scan group 1 and group 6 or is it an all or nothing proposition.
