Kenwood or Icom

Post by BrienD »

I know I am opening the gates of He11 but
I have been asked to spec some radios for a group at work.
Right now they are using Motorola SP50s.
They have a UHF repeater with a pone patch and 3 simplex channels.
They want portables and they need to last 8 hours.
Let me have it.

The eight RULE

Post by Raymond156 »

Well when you meet the SALESMAN
(Crap are us ** they tell you that a 8 hour battery
is 5%/ 5%/ 90%
5 % transmit
5% receive
90 % turned on.

Well they can Crap that Rule.
Many after market battery suppliers make
larger batteries for most radios.A lot of
companies run 12 hour shifts and need larger batteries.

Look at batteries and not from the radio manufactors.
