Tait T2040 problem

Post by VE9MP » Wed Apr 30, 2008 11:47 am

Hey all...
Got a Tait T2040....
Powers on and only flashes ESN ERROR at me forever...
If I recall correctly it used to flash EPROM ERR at me when I forst got it, but I havent messed around with it in a long time...
Have the RIB and software and can't read or write to it...

Ideas?

It's more than just a walkie, Mr. Lahey.

I tinkered with a few Taits, 2015, 2030 and 2035. I also have the repair manual for the 2000 series. One thing to check would be the battery pack on the logic board. It's in a little black box that snaps on to the board.

I found the book. ESN ERR means ESN checksum error {X32} (go to program mode)

PM me your email and I can send you the book in chunks. It's quite large.
