Good source for MRK 3 Refurb kits??

Post by 10-95 »

I have some MRK 2's that I may re-case as MRK 3 full keypad radios.
I stopped in at the local PD hop, they use MRK 2's and had a few apart for service and it seems that everything is inside the MRK2 to upgrade it with a full keypad housing. Anyone know where I can get some at a resonable price??? Also a part number for the kit would be great.

Thanks in advance,
Frank

Well,
I found a place called http://www.directechnology.com. I am trying to find a Limited Keypad M-rk casing too. Also need the D-Button that clips on the back and a new universal port assembly on the side.

Try FMR inc. , http://www.FMR-inc.com on the web. They have a big list of parts... or New London Technology...NTL is how they are listed on the web.

Just a possible warning: the whole front keypad and UDC on the MRK's is one piece. Brand new from M/A Com they run in the $200-250 range. How do I know? Snapped a thumbscrew off in one, neither I nor the tech could get it out without ruining the UDC, thus, new connector. Wallet yelled at me for weeks for that bonehead play.

FYI, Frank: The MRK's are either I or II. The II are called either scan (limited) or sytem (keypad). Maybe some Astro on the brain? :)
