Tightening tool for the SMA connector

Post by N3CHU »

Hi All, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get the correct tool to tighten the nut on my VX5R and VX7R SMA antenna connectors and the part number of that tool .. Thank you . Davie n3chu@charter.net

I'm not sure what tool you'd need, but if it's a spanner type nut, you can make one.

Just use an old flat head screw driver that is wide enough to cover the whole nut. Take a dremel tool and 'etch' out the insides of the flat blade until it fits the nut.

I use it on the SMA and the battery connectors on Motorola Sabers and it works like a charm.
